2009 - 2010 Parent Satisfaction Survey
Disney II Magnet Elementary decided to carry out its annual Internet survey of parents to gather feedback on parent satisfaction with the school across several elements including school programs, curriculum, faculty/staff, and leadership. Results will be used to identify opportunity areas and develop strategies to address issues identified.
- Survey findings provide evidence of continued strong parent support (99% Satisfaction) of the school and its programs. Furthermore, the school achieved equal or higher satisfaction ratings across the board relative to last year’s ratings.
- The school is effectively meeting the goals specified in its Mission Statement, as the school continues to get high marks for its challenging study, integrated curriculum, strong school leadership, dedicated faculty/staff, and the Literacy Program. The extended day program was rated as the most advantageous aspect of the school.
- Last year the single most important issue identified pertained to need for improved communication throughout the school. As a result, the school placed much emphasis this year on improving in this area. Based on your feedback, the school was successful in achieving its goal of increasing communication ratings by more than 10%.
- To reiterate, these overall scores are quite impressive and the entire school community including parents, faculty, and staff should take pride in them. However, we strive for continuous improvement. To this end, the major opportunity areas identified to address for next year relate to after-school program offerings and creating a more inclusive environment particularly in the parent community. Given part of the mission of the school focuses on celebrating diversity, as well as creating a nurturing and inclusive school community the school plans to develop strategies to make the school even more inclusive.
- Last year the school actually increased the number of after-school programs offered. However, we did not see improvement in satisfaction levels as it relate to these programs. As a result the school is asking that all parents participate in a 2-3 question survey focused on this issue in order to provide guidance on how to improve offerings.
