Dear Parents:

Disney II Magnet School will be offering an after school program starting the first day of school, September 7, 2010. The program will run from 3:15 pm until 6:00 pm and the cost will be $60.00 per week, regardless of the number of days in attendance. This program is available to Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th grade students.

The After School Program will offer:

• Daily Homework Help

• Exercise/Physical activities (weather permitting outside)

• Enrichment activities on a rotating basis, including: digital photography, arts, and technology

After-School Program schedule:

3:15-3:30 Snack in the Cafeteria

3:30-4:00 Playground or Gym (short physical activities)

4:00-5:00 Room 304/6 for Homework Time/Activity time (during this time, depending on our number of students and their needs, K and 1st Graders will work on homework during the first half hour, and 2nd, 3rd & 4th Graders will have activity time to draw, use the computers, read, play games and use toys, etc. Then, after this first ½ hour, the groups will switch.)

5:00-6:00 Enrichment Activities (These activities will vary throughout the year, and may include, but are not limited to: art projects, drama, sports, tae-bo, etc. [I know those returning are overjoyed to see the returnof tae-bo!!])

For those parents and family members returning to our program, the pick-up will be done in the same manner as last year, with dismissal done through the main office. In order to facilitate better parent-teacher communication within our program, you will soon be able to access our “After-School Program” webpage on the Disney II Magnet website. This site will include updates, pictures, and information on happenings throughout the program.
